Karen Eakins
Editor-in-Chief
Editor-in-chief Karen Eakins joined H&A Media Group as an intern in 2002. She worked her way through the ranks, being named features/copy editor in 2007 before gaining the top editor's spot in 2017. She has played an active part in many changes throughout her time with H&A and has collaborated with the marketing, design and production departments to produce a range of AAA magazines and custom products.
Karen came from a different walk of life, serving as an executive assistant and office manager for several entities, but always working with the written word. Looking to expand, she entered the University of Nebraska-Omaha as a nontraditional student and earned her bachelor's degree in journalism in 2004. She has also served in various capacities with civic organizations and within her church.
Karen is married and happily claims a blended family of five children and 16 grandchildren.
